रोगनिवारणसूक्त – वैदिक सूक्त | Rognivaran Sukta
अथर्ववेद के चतुर्थ काण्ड का १३ वाँ सूक्त तथा ऋग्वेद के दशम मण्डल का १३७ वाँ सूक्त रोगनिवारण सूक्त के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। अथर्ववेद में अनुष्टुप्छन्द के इस सूक्त के ऋषि शंताति तथा देवता चन्द्रमा एवं विश्वेदेवा हैं। जबकि ऋग्वेद में प्रथम मन्त्र के ऋषि भरद्वाज, द्वितीय के कश्यप, तृतीय के गौतम, चतुर्थक अत्रि, पंचम के विश्वामित्र, षष्ठ के जमदग्नि तथा सप्तम मन्त्र के ऋषि वसिष्ठजी हैं और देवता विश्वेदेवा हैं। इस सूक्त के जप-पाठ से रोगों से मुक्ति अर्थात् आरोग्यता प्राप्त होती है। ऋषि ने रोग मुक्ति के लिये ही देवों से प्रार्थना की है। यहाँ भावानुवाद सहित सूक्त प्रस्तुत है-
The 13th Sukta of the fourth episode of the Atharvaveda and the 138th Sukta of the tenth division of the Rigveda is famous as Roginivaran Sukta. The sage Shantati and the deities of this hymn of Anushtupchand in Atharvaveda are Moon and Vishvedev. Whereas in the Rigveda, the sage of the first mantra is Bharadwaja, the second is Kashyapa, the third is Gautama, Chaturthi Atri, Vishwamitra of Pancham, Jamadagni of Sastha and Rishi Vasisthaji of Saptam Mantra and the deity is Visvadeva. The chanting of Roginivaran Sukta gives you freedom from diseases, that is, healing. The sage has prayed to the deities only for the cure of disease through Roginivaran Sukta. Here is the Suktak (Roginivaran Sukta) with a paraphrased :
उत देवा अवहितं देवा उन्नयथा पुनः।
उतागश्चक्रुषं देवा देवा जीवयथा पुनः ॥१ ॥
द्वाविमौ वातौ वात आ सिन्धोरा परावतः।
दक्षं ते अन्य आवातु व्यन्यो वातु यद्रपः ॥२ ॥
आ वात वाहि भेषजं वि वात वाहि यद्रपः।
त्वं हि विश्वभेषज देवानां दूत ईयसे ॥३ ॥
Uta Dēvā Avahitaṁ Dēvā Unnayathā Punaḥ.
Utāgaścakruṣaṁ Dēvā Dēvā Jīvayathā Punaḥ.1.
Dvāvimau Vātau Vāta Ā Sindhōrā Parāvataḥ.
Dakṣaṁ Tē An’ya Āvātu Vyan’yō Vātu Yadrapaḥ.2.
Ā Vāta Vāhi Bhēṣajaṁ Vi Vāta Vāhi Yadrapaḥ.
Tvaṁ Hi Viśvabhēṣaja Dēvānāṁ Dūta Īyasē.3.
हे देवो! हे देवो! आप नीचे गिरे हुए को फिर निश्चयपूर्वक ऊपर उठाओ। हे देवो! हे देवो! और पाप करनेवाले को भी फिर जीवित करो, जीवित करो ॥१ ॥
ये दो वायु हैं। समुद्रसे आनेवाला वायु एक है और दूर भूमिपर से आनेवाला दूसरा वायु है। इनमें से एक वायु तेरे पास बल ले आये और दूसरा वायु जो दोष है, उसे दूर करे ॥२ ॥
हे वायु! ओषधि यहाँ ले आ। हे वायु! जो दोष है, वह दूर कर। हे सम्पूर्ण ओषधियोंको साथ रखने वाले वायु! निःसन्देह तू देवोंका दूत जैसा होकर चलता है, जाता है, बहता है ॥३ ॥
Oh god Oh god definitely pick up what you have fallen down again. Oh god Oh god and revive the sinner, revive him. 1
These are two winds. There is one wind coming from the sea and another wind coming from far away land. Let one of these winds bring strength to you and let the other wind remove the defect. 2
O wind! Bring medicine here. O wind! Remove the defect. O air that keeps all the medicines together! Undoubtedly, you walk, go, flow like the messenger of the gods. 3
त्रायन्तामिमं देवास्त्रायन्तां मरुतां गणाः।
त्रायन्तां विश्वा भूतानि यथायमरपा असत् ॥४ ॥
आ त्वागमं शंतातिभिरथो अरिष्टतातिभिः
दक्षं त उग्रमाभारिषं परा यक्ष्मं सुवामि ते ॥५ ॥
अयं मे हस्तो भगवानयं मे भगवत्तरः।
अयं मे विश्वभेषजोऽयं शिवाभिमर्शन: ॥६ ॥
हस्ताभ्यां दशशाखाभ्यां जिह्वा वाचः पुरोगवी।
अनामयित्नुभ्यां हस्ताभ्यां ताभ्यां त्वाभि मृशामसि ॥७ ॥

Trāyantāmimaṁ dēvāstrāyantāṁ marutāṁ gaṇāḥ.
Trāyantāṁ viśvā bhūtāni yathāyamarapā asat.4.
Ā tvāgamaṁ śantātibhirathō ariṣṭatātibhiḥ
dakṣaṁ ta ugramābhāriṣaṁ parā yakṣmaṁ suvāmi tē.5.
Ayaṁ mē hastō bhagavānayaṁ mē bhagavattaraḥ.
Ayaṁ mē viśvabhēṣajō̕yaṁ śivābhimarśana: .6.
Hastābhyāṁ daśaśākhābhyāṁ jihvā vācaḥ purōgavī.
Anāmayitnubhyāṁ hastābhyāṁ tābhyāṁ tvābhi mr̥śāmasi.7.

हे देवो! इस रोगी की रक्षा करो। हे मरुतों के समूहो! रक्षा करो। सब प्राणी रक्षा करें। जिससे यह रोगी रोग-दोष रहित हो जाय ॥४ ॥
आपके पास शान्ति फैलानेवाले तथा अविनाशी करने वाले साधनों के साथ आया हूँ। तेरे लिये प्रचण्ड बल भर देता हूँ। तेरे रोग को दूर कर भगा देता हूँ ॥५ ॥
मेरा यह हाथ भाग्यवान् है। मेरा यह हाथ अधिक भाग्यशाली है। मेरा यह हाथ सब औषधियों से युक्त है और यह मेरा हाथ शुभ स्पर्श देने वाला है ॥६ ॥
दस शाखावाले दोनों हाथों के साथ वाणी को आगे प्रेरणा करने वाली मेरी जोभ है। उन नीरोग करने वाले दोनों हाथों से तुझे हम स्पर्श करते हैं ॥७ ॥
Oh god Protect this patient. O groups of maruts! Protect. Protect all creatures. So that this patient becomes disease-free. 4
I have come to you with the means of spreading peace and destroying. I give you tremendous strength. I will drive away your disease. 5
This hand of mine is lucky. This hand of mine is more fortunate. This hand of mine is full of all medicines and this hand of mine is going to give auspicious touch. 6
